Excalibur Micro Suppressor Crossbow Package Product Review
This is one of Excalibur’s most compact crossbows, but how well will the Micro Suppressor shoot a shot?
This recurve crossbow is a powerful weapon, that’s for sure.
Although it only uses a small x-bow, it can shoot with 91 foot-pounds of kinetic energy, downrange at 355 FPS. These are ideal stats for shooting large, tough game, so you can trust that this heavy-duty crossbow won’t let you down on the hunt.
With one of the highest draw weights among the Excalibur models, at 280lbs, you might feel the strain when cocking this crossbow. However, with the included rope cocking device, you can reduce this down to around 140lbs. It features a power stroke of 10.2 inches, which is good news here, as it won’t require pulling for long to start firing.
Not only are its shots powerful, but they’re also accurate. The Tact Zone scope that comes with this product enables archers to adjust the bolts that are being shot, so you can gain greater results whilst hunting or target shooting.
Despite its power, this product barely makes a sound. Excalibur have included a Sound Deadening System, which works by reducing the vibrations made during firing, thus making for a quieter crossbow.
The Sound Deadening System includes a hold-down spring, an over-molded, rubberized foot stirrup, string stars, and a Recoil Anti-Vibration System (R.A.V.S). You can expect a quiet shot that won’t disturb the animals you’re hunting, so you have a safer and calmer hunting experience.
If you’re on the hunt for a crossbow that provides consistent, precise results with speed and power, then this is definitely one to consider.
Safety, Comfort, and Convenience
Although this is a powerful crossbow, it is easy to use, so you won’t have to worry about complicated components to get to grips with. The trigger is smooth and easy to pull, making shooting a straightforward process.
In addition to this, the recurve style of this crossbow means that it is much lighter overall than its compound counterpart. There are no cams, and fewer cables with this crossbow, so it has a more comfortable feel to it while in use.
It is constructed with comfort in mind, and its compact design reflects this. Weighing only 5.6 pounds, this crossbow is ultra-lightweight compared to other crossbows on the market, meaning that you can carry it for long periods without suffering from muscle strain.
For beginners, this is a great size for starting out, as it allows you to focus on your technique without feeling the weight of a hefty crossbow.
It measures around 25 inches wide when uncocked, and 21 inches wide when cocked, so this crossbow is one of the more narrow products we have discovered. This compact, slim construction makes it ideal for shooting in a tree stand, as it allows you to have excellent accuracy even when shooting from tight angles or with less space around you.
One area to point out, however, is that the trigger doesn’t feel as curved and comfortable to hold as others on the market. There is the option to purchase a trigger kit, though, which can help to rectify this if you find that it is an issue.
Excalibur have built a worthwhile investment with the Micro Suppressor. It is a durable, tough product that feels like a high-quality piece of equipment.
It is manufactured using Excalibur’s SMF material, so it is tough and robust, able to handle damage even with prolonged use. It comes with an ambidextrous cheekpiece, as well as a pistol-grip bullpup design, giving you a solid grip while you hold the crossbow.
Choosing the best crossbow to suit you isn’t always a straightforward task, and with many high-quality crossbows on the market nowadays, it can be tough to decide.
However, the Excalibur Micro Suppressor Crossbow Package makes for an excellent, all-around top-performing crossbow. Its powerful, accurate shots, combined with one of the most lightweight and compact designs that we’ve encountered, make this the perfect blend of power and precision. This combination isn’t always easy to come by with other competitor crossbows that we’ve seen.
